Concept:Communal strength

Open competition organised by the Irish Architecture Foundation. Architects’ placed in schools to develop students understanding of architecture & design. Visual presentations used to engage the students followed by hands-on project development. This work questioned senses of identity through aesthetics and responsibility through sustainable design.

Projects Identified included:

  • Facade remodelling to improve aesthetics and identity and improve efficiency of the building fabric
  • Landscape masterplan to provide community garden and activity spaces for active and passive recreation
  • New Sports Hall and Theatre to create new “heart” to school
  • New roof top canteen and roof the create a special place for students and to improve building fabric efficiency and appearance
